TRANSFORMING SEXUAL ENERGY INTO SPIRITUAL ENERGY: Yoga is a science that emphasizes celibacy and the preservation of the vital fluids. In a broader sense, Brahmacharya actually means more than celibacy and refers to the absolute control of all the senses. A Spiritual Master gives a beautiful explanation why the preservation of the vital fluid is so important: “By the practice of meditation, Pranayama or other spiritual practices the vital fluids or sexual energy will be transmuted into a spiritual energy called Ojas Sakti. This spiritual energy or Ojas is stored up in the brain. This stored up energy can then be utilised for divine contemplation and spiritual pursuits. It is the process of controlling the sex energy, conserving it, then diverting it into higher channels. So many Yogis direct their attention to the accumulation of this divine energy by unbroken chastity. It is said that a man who has a great deal of Ojas in his brain can turn out immense mental work. He is very intelligent. He has lustrous eyes and a magnetic aura in his face. He can influence people by speaking just a few words. A short speech of his produces a tremendous impression on the minds of the hearers. His speech is thrilling. He has an awe-inspiring personality.
“The vital fluids of the human body is formed of the most precious tissue and energy of the body. Every drop of creative chemical fluid is said to contain eight drops of blood and the electric energy contained in those thousands of blood corpuscles. Each cell of the creative fluid is a condensed electric battery of a microscopic mental brain. To foolishly dislodge these mental and Astral storage batteries from the body weakens the vitality of the body and the mind, and makes the breath extremely restless. Myriads of life atoms and atoms of intelligence, like soldiers, remain lodged in the creative chemical compound. To drive them out of the body by being lured by the enemy of sensual temptation is to lose the soldiers of energy and mental power. And you will become a victim of the army of darkness, disease, weakness, fear, worry, dissatisfaction, melancholia and premature death. The mind is the operator that controls the breath, the Life Force, the vital power and all the functions of the body. Without its guiding power, all functions of the body cease to operate. If consciousness completely departs from the body, from the brain and spine, then all functions of the body will cease to operate. Mind control leads to control of all the functions of the body. But mind control cannot control all of the functions of the body until it knows its own powers and the relative powers of breath, Life Force, and vitality in connection with itself. The person who tries to attain mind control by harmonizing breath, Prana, and vital essence will find quicker Liberation than the person who tries to attain mental control without the aid of controlled breath, energy, and vitality.” Om Kriya Babaji Namah Aum
