(Don't panic)
This is the best of times and this is the worst of time.
I don't know whether this helps but let me explain.
90% of our daily requirements are useless and could be avoided. Many people say, "We have only 7 days stock of food". I will tell them, "Learn to extend this to 21 days. At the end you will have better health and also enjoy your daily meal".
My outdoor life has prepared me to this situation.
In my earlier travels in Mizoram - my food for the whole day used to be like this:
One rice meal, one packet of glucose biscuits and two bananas.
Three days of this type of travel in Mizoram and I come back home with good health and a better appetite.
When I go on my birding tours - I give the minimum emphasis to food. Rather I make it a point to take the minimum food. I never demand anything fancy.
Approximately 300 GM of home cooked Halwa (Suji) and I can exist very well for more than 36 to 48 Hours.
More people die in this world from diseases related to excess food than from less food.
If you face starvation for two days you will never find your food on the third day - tasteless. It will be a blessing in disguise.
This is the time when we the elite class will learn what it means to be a poor man.
If we learn this lesson - it will be better for us and equip us in this long drawn fight for survival.
